Background and experience

Ana has spent the last years building and improving the people management foundations of growing companies, working closely with leadership teams through change, growth and professionalisation.

Her approach is centred on implementation and adoption. A management system is only as good as the leaders who run it, so she works on the part most projects skip: how expectations are set, how performance is discussed, how decisions are communicated and how teams take on a new way of working.

At Operating by Design she is responsible for leadership, people and change: preparing leaders to own the system, connecting goals and accountability to performance conversations, and supporting teams through the first weeks of use until the new routines hold without outside help.

At Operating by Design

At Operating by Design, Ana connects the design of the management system with the way leaders and teams use it. Her focus includes how leadership teams work, accountability, performance conversations, culture and change management. The starting point is understanding what already happens in the company, where resistance appears and which behaviours need to change for the system to work.

That work translates into routines, guides and follow-up moments leaders can apply: explicit expectations, decision rules, communication of change and support through the first weeks of use. Together with Francisco, she connects these practices to the priorities, goals and indicators of the business.

The perspective behind the Insights

The perspective she brings to Insights is adoption: preparing a leadership team to manage through commitments, making accountability part of the week and leading change without it reverting a month later. The question behind this approach is what needs to change in everyday work for a system to be used in practice.
